Source A and B have many similarities and differences and both explain why the USA moved away from a policy of isolationism. Source A is showing how the US are very laid back about things and it also shows that the connections to other countries such as Belgium and France which participate in the league of nations is very limited. Source B shows that USA started to make decisions and come up with their own ideas. The dates between the sources are also different source A was drawn in 1919/1920 and source B is about decisions around 1945, this is showing that during that time period and gaining a new president has helped the USA to regain power. That moved the USA away from a policy of isolationism by helping them to make their own decisions and control their own country by coming forward.

The Truman doctrine was a policy set by the president of USA at the time 'Harry Truman'.In march 1947 Truman said that USA would lend money and military support to keep Greece and Turkey from falling into communism. Some people think that this started the cold war as if the communists gave money and aid to other Europe countries, so could the US, this caused tension between USSR and The USA.
Why was Pearl Harbour a turning point in US Foreign policy? Until 1941 Amercia had been isolationist.This meant that they would stay away from foreign polciy and wars this policy had been around since after the fist world war as America had lost so much in a war that didn't concern them, America did not want a repeat of this lost. the Japanese wanted to invade other countries but felt threatend by the USA so set an attack on the US fleet based at Pearl Harbour. Pearl Harbour happened on the 7th of December 1941. On an early sunday morning Japanese planes flew from aircraft carriers off the coast of Pearl Harour, the plane attcked US planes destroying almost all of the American naval and areal fleet. Shortly after the attck on Pearl Harbour America declared war on the Japanese turning their policy of isolationism to the policy of interventionism. I belive this attack was planned to forced the US into interventionism because Britain needed the US to avoid There currant policy of isolations

The USA did not involve itself in WWII directly, only via giving aid to Europe before Pearl Harbour. After Pearl Harbour, the USA realised how big the threat Nazism, Facism and Japan posed to the USA and so joined WWII.

This involved them not getting involved in any conflicts or disputed which could lead to another World War and making the US independant from other nations for reasources. The USA did not involve itself in WWII directly, only via giving aid to Europe before Pearl Harbour. After Pearl Harbour, the USA realised how big the threat Nazism, Facism and Japan posed to the USA and so joined WWII.
